Villa Astreo is in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, 20 kilometers from Siena, surrounded by charming medieval villages and age-old parishes.
Immersed in the silence of a pine grove, encircled by woodland and olive groves in Chianti, Villa Astreo is the ideal base to discover all the attractions of this part of Tuscany: from the bed & breakfast you can quickly reach many striking and interesting areas such as San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza, la Val D'Orcia, Monteriggioni and Florence, which is just 40 minutes by car from the residence.
If you wish to stay in the vicinity, in just 10 minutes you are in Siena, a splendid medieval city full of tradition and artistic masterpieces of priceless beauty, such as the Duomo, Piazza del Campo and the town hall. If you come to stay in July and August, during the famous Palio horse race, you will have the chance of availing of an exceptional guide: Rosanna Bonelli, known as "Rompicollo", the only woman to have participated in this ancient and eventful competition.

To make your stay truly unforgettable, we would be delighted to suggest alternative itineraries in areas which have not yet been overcome by mass tourism, such as San Galgano with its legendary abbey, Bagno Vignoni and the Terme di Petriolo, extremely quiet and calm areas with thermal baths. For those of you who wish to get to know local practices and customs, you will be fully satisfied: the vicinity of Villa Astreo periodically holds outdoor feasts, village festivals and tastings for wine, oil and other typical, delicious wine and food products from Tuscany. Let us mention for example the Vagliagli Grape Festival, which takes place in September.
